The Importance of Change Management

Industry reports often suggest that change programmes are not delivering anticipated benefits. In many cases the rate of failure of change sits between 60 and 90 per cent. One industry review suggested that £25 billion is wasted each year on change management errors. The Challenge of Change 2002 study found that UK businesses undertake at least three major change projects a year – costing companies £52 billion in management charges alone – and around half are a waste of time and money …… Shining through this study is the realization that real organizational transformation is a people issue.

JustOne places a great emphasis and focus on change management during the implementation phase of projects. About half the modules in our training workshops* are devoted to consultancy skills such as change management and project management. Since we only have a limited time to train client staff (ICs) our change management methodologies are straightforward but pragmatic and effective. For a brief introduction to our change management approach please see “JustOne Change Management”

* For working capital projects about half the modules are technical skills and half are consultancy skills. For EPS projects all modules are consultancy skills.
