JustOne Business Model

As our name suggests, we provide just one consultant per assignment who will train, coach and manage selected client staff to act as Internal Consultants (ICs) so they have the skills to facilitate the implementation phase of the improvement project. This approach has several advantages over more conventional consultancy approaches:

o
The organisation tends to be more receptive to the change when facilitated by internal people who know the business and culture of the company. The approach encourages local management and staff to take ownership of the new ideas and ways of working.
o
We make use of the language skills that exist within the organisation (the internal consultants need to be fluent in English as well as their local languages).
o
There is a high level of transfer of technical, project management and change management skills.
o
Unlike external consultants the internal consultants remain after the project is complete to ensure sustainability.
o
External consulting fees tend to be low, usually less than 20% of a conventional consultancy for a global project.

Although the JustOne business model is based on providing just one consultant per assignment, with global programmes there may be several assignments (based on businesses or geography) with a JustOne consultant leading each assignment. JustOne people are all experienced “big four” director level management consultants with working capital specialisation.

1
“Set up” activities – specification for Internal Consultants (ICs), make up of steering committee, agree pre-implementation visit locations, arrange key meetings etc.
2
Pre-implementation visits (usually three locations per assignment) - produce reports with targets and recommendations. Reports are validated with local management.
3
Work with Group to agree generic policies, processes and procedures.
4
IC workshop - train ICs in technical and consulting skills.
5
Pilot Implementation – JustOne to lead an implementation with all ICs involved to gain practical experience.
6
JustOne to support ICs to facilitate changes in all countries.
7
JustOne to undertake post-implementation audits. ICs to undertake annual audits in the businesses they facilitated.

Steps 1 and 2 can be undertaken as a pre-implementation “analysis and discovery phase”.
